On behalf of Philips, together with an international team,a flexible recessed lighting system for retail applications was created. To realize ambiance in a shopping area different light effects are normally combined. One way of creating a light scene is adding individual luminaires were light is needed in a store. Within the SceneOn project the starting point was to realize a clean elegant ceiling, without compromising on the ease of installation as well as lighting requirements.
The system consists out of a recessed frame in which different light effects can be installed easily. Due to its connection with controls, the light scene can be changed by the click of a button. This makes the system able to be tailored for a wide variety of store layouts. It consists out of the latest light source technology available for each lighting application.
It was introduced and well received in 2008 on the Euroshop and Light & Building.
