In 2009 an opportunity was defined and found for office lighting in the Asian market. It was decided to introduce the already existing European portfolio of suspended luminaires into Asia. 4 product ranges where locally introduced complying with local standards. By the use of value engineering the need for a cost reduction was realized. Despite taking out costs the iconic aesthetics was kept. The products were introduced in 2010 and 2011.
Relocating from the Netherlands to Shanghai was a great experience. It gave a great insight in how almost everything looks so different while at the same time is actually not that different at all. It was a fantastic journey of working hard and enjoying local hospitality.
