Starting in 2007, Rick joined the team to realize a complete family of highly versatile modular and semi-modular luminaires. It should reflect the drive for simplicity and sustainability for many application areas. The range is available with the latest lighting technology of linear fluorescent lamps or LEDs.
SmartForm can be equipped with controls for presence detection and daylight regulation. This to reduce the energy consumption (Watts /m2) even further. It comes in many different sizes to meet most project requirements as well as different standardized ceiling grids. The optical design results in a limited height of a mere 45 mm, making it ideal for applications requiring very flat light fittings, e.g. refurbishment projects where the ceiling space may be especially limited.
The main challenge was to keep a simple overall architecture for the product family which is cost effective and easy to adapt for project requirements(such as future needs like the integration of LED technology). It was an exciting project to realize as well as to find an optimized balance between different specialists (marketing, design, optics, mechanics, electronics, supply chain).
